Biographical sketch:

 

Chris Huizenga and his partner James Nash lived on the east coast of the United States between the 1970s and 1990s. They spent several periods in Canada. They collected the work of Peter Flinsch and maintained a correspondence with him. James Nash worked as an editor for AfterDark: The national magazine of entertainment, based in New York.

 

 

Scope and content:

 

The fonds bears witness to a long-standing friendship between gay men across Canada and the United States.

 

The fonds contains correspondence received by Chris Huizenga and his partner James Nash, mainly from the set designer and visual artist Peter Flinsch.

Source of title proper: Title based on the contents of the fonds.

 

Physical description: The fonds also contains six photographs and a coloured pencil drawing retouched in watercolour.

 

Immediate source of acquisition: The fonds was transferred to the AGQ on 15 September 2017 by the fonds’ creator (acquisition 2017-030).

 

Language: The documents are in English, with a few in German and French.
