Biographical sketch:
Robert Comeau is an activist, historian and associate professor of history at the Université du Québec à Montréal. He is interested in the history of the labour and trade union movements, independence, political history and the national question in Quebec, and has published numerous essays on these issues.
Scope and content:
The fonds bears witness to the place of homosexuality in Marxist-Leninist struggles, particularly around the group En Lutte!
The fonds contains newsletters and correspondence with the En Lutte! group, notes on an article, photocopies of articles, issues of the En Lutte! magazine and congress reports. Many of the documents and correspondence criticize or question the absence of homosexuality from the group’s discussions and of homosexuals in the struggle, or argue in favour of homosexuality as an oppressed group.
