Biographical sketch:
André Boulerice (1946- ) is a Quebec MP and gay activist who fought for the recognition of homosexual rights in Quebec, notably through the institution of civil union in 2002. He was the first Quebec MP to take advantage of this union in 2004. He was MP for Sainte-Marie-Saint-Jacques (then called Saint-Jacques) for the Parti Québécois from 1985 and was re-elected 4 times until 2003. He retired from politics in 2005.
Scope and content:
The fonds bears witness to the involvement and importance of MP André Boulericein the struggle to pass the law amending the Québec Charter of Human Rights and Freedoms.
The fonds contains certificated true copies of Bill 133 amending the Québec Charter of Human Rights and Freedoms with two dedications.
