Fonds Truxx. – 22 October 1977-June 1983. – 2 cm of textual records.

Adminsitrative history:

The Truxx was a gay bar located at 1428 Stanley Street in Montreal. On the night of Friday, 21 October to Saturday, 22 October 1977, 220 people were arrested during a raid by fifty police officers at the Truxx bar. A total of 143 were charged with ‘gross indecency.’ This event sparked a protest movement for the recognition of gay and lesbian rights in Quebec.
