Pass on your memory
TIME CAPSULES HIV/AIDS: long-kept stories
Objective
To collect testimonies relating to the HIV/AIDS pandemic, kept confidential until 2047, twenty-five years after the start of the project in 2022. When they are publicly unveiled, these stories will be used to inspire collective memory projects.
Introduction
Optional: Last name, first name or pseudonym.
Context: To capture the collective memories of HIV/AIDS as a tribute to the people and communities affected, to preserve and pass on this legacy.
Consent: By submitting your form, you agree to your testimony being included in the project and kept confidential until 2047.
1. Your experience
- How were you affected by the HIV/AIDS pandemic?
- Do you have a special memory you’d like to share?
- Digital memories to include in your time capsule (letters, photos, diaries, etc.).
2. Impact and legacy
- What have been your greatest difficulties or personal challenges in dealing with this crisis?
- What message would you like to pass on to future generations?
- What concerns or hopes do you have for people living with HIV?
- Is there anything else you would like to share or add about your experience or thoughts on the HIV/AIDS pandemic?
Collection methods
- Online form (text, audio or video): The form will be printed. The digital files will be transferred to a USB key. These items will be inserted into a standard size 10 envelope by AGQ staff and will be kept sealed until they are opened in 2047.
- Optional interview (January-February 2025): Opportunity to share your story in a recorded interview, the file of which will also be transferred to a USB stick and inserted into an envelope by AGQ staff.
Acknowledgements
We would like to express our deepest gratitude to all the people, directly or indirectly affected by the HIV/AIDS pandemic, who have agreed to share their stories. Your contribution is essential to preserving this collective memory and passing on this legacy to future generations. Your voice counts, and we thank you warmly on behalf of the future researchers and commissioners who will draw inspiration from it for their work and projects.
