Our Collections

Our collections are principally composed of printed materials (books, periodical, posters, pamphlets and press clippings), handwritten materials (personal and institutional), photos, videos and DVDs, films, and a wide variety of other materials including framed artworks.

 

We hold some :

  • 1000 periodical titles
  • 2000 books
  • 1000 brochures and handouts
  • 2000 posters
  • over 50000 photos
  • 1 200 audio-visual documents
  • an extensive collections of badges, banners, T-shirts, matches and other objects
  • some three linear metres of press clippings
  • 1200 thematic dossiers on community groups, individuals and diverse subjects include approximately 350 dealing with HIV/Aids
  • More than 500 onomastic or thematic files
  • A hundred theses and student work
  • A collection of official documents (legal texts, reports …)

 

Since our founding in 1983, we have received over 160 archival fonds from individuals, organizations and businesses, including the Alan B. Stone fonds (photography), the Peter Flinsch fonds (paintings and other artworks), the Ken Morrison fonds (the Aids crisis) and the Irène Demczuk fonds (documentation on the struggles for legal equality of same sex couples, homoparental families and lesbians in the feminist movement).

 

Archival fonds
